The Holidays are here and the Jacksonville area is jam packed with so many festive things to do! From Christmas lights to movie's in the park, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Here is a guide to all things festive and fun going on this weekend!
Deck the Chairs
Our beloved Deck the Chairs is back again this year! Located at the Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach, Deck the Chairs is a display of beautifully decorated lifeguard chairs by local businesses and organizations. Go at night to see all of the lights illuminate the sky! This is a free exhibit to walk through and is taking place everyday until January 1st. It's fun for the whole family!
Christmas Lights
Ooh and ahh at all the beautiful Christmas light displays around town. The Beaches Town Center is lit up bright with palm trees swirled in multicolored lights and ending with a beautiful Christmas tree right at the center where Atlantic and Neptune Beach split. You don't even need to leave your car to see this display! Another popular light display is the Blackhawk Bluff Christmas Lights Display on Girvin Road. Just off of Atlantic Blvd, this light display takes over an entire neighborhood with a dazzling show of all sorts of lights! It is definitely a light spectacle you don't want to miss.
Nights of Lights
A magnificent display of over a million lights is taking place in our neighbor city, St. Augustine. Nights of Lights is the coveted Christmas lights celebration that happens every year. People travel hours to come and see the historic buildings covered head-to-toe in tiny bulbs. If you've never been, it is worth the short trip to see it! There are so many fun holiday spots to eat and drink in the area too, so make sure you support local!
Jacksonville ZOOLights
Zoo animals and Christmas lights, it doesn't get much better than that! Enjoy a fun night of learning about wildlife and enjoying beautiful light displays at the 11th Annual Jacksonville ZOOlights. They are running this weekend from the 22nd to Christmas Eve from 6-9 PM. There are eleven themed areas with sounds, lights, performances and interactive points, so there will be so much for everyone to do! More than two million lights adorn the zoo for this event, so you are sure to be amazed! This is a ticketed event, but if you purchase ahead of time online then you save $5 per ticket.
